We Showcased our tech at NYFW
Ap0cene held an Emergent Fashion Showcase during NYFW - September 2021. This showcase explored the intersection of art and cutting-edge technology, and how this coupling can lead to a better future for designers and everyone. Each garment displayed was bound to an NFT via an encrypted chip that ensures authenticity and is easily scanned by your smart phone. This process creates provenance on the blockchain and secures royalties for designers on all secondary sales.
Winning looks from each designer were displayed in an exhibition open to the public. Over a hundred emerging designers applied to exhibit, and seven were selected to participate. Designers were chosen for their ability to manifest a fashion future showing imagination, innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity.
Members of the community came together to build relationships, and learned about fashion and blockchain technology.
